My name is Evan, I am the owner and team lead of The Movers. I was born and raised on the Eastside of Oahu, but my journey into moving started in 2017, when I left the island at 22 years old to live in Oregon. That is where I spent 2 years of my life snowboarding; working for a 5 star moving company, Bridgetown Moving & Storage, to pay for my expenses. During that time I learned the tricks of the trade, saw how teamwork can make a big job feel small, and the importance of professionalism. Eventually I worked my way up to leading 4 man crews and driving 26ft box trucks, while only getting paid a few dollars more than minimum wage. I worked 6 days a week, 2 moves a day on average, that’s over 1,000 jobs!

When I decided to move back home in 2019, I brought my knowledge and expensive hand-truck, and swore that I’d never work a moving job again. Little did I know, God had other plans. I was given the opportunity to start my very own moving company. The universe laid out the path and everything was going well. I had an awesome crew of childhood friends and over 40 happy customers. Unfortunately halfway through COVID my right hand man had his first child and needed steadier work to provide for his family. Like many business during the pandemic, we did our best to continue, but inevitably were forced to put the business on hold.

Now, 5 years later, we’re back! Today I am blessed with an amazing crew with years of previous moving experience. My main goals with this company are to build a team that feels like family, provide livable wages to my employees, and serve the community with aloha by offering a heartfelt moving experience.
