How much does it cost to hire movers on O'ahu?
Our rates start at $216/hour for 2 movers and a 16ft box truck, perfect for 1 to 2 bedroom homes. We also offer 3 movers ($264/hour) and 4 movers ($336/hour) for larger homes or faster moves. The clock starts when our crew heads out from our central Honolulu starting point and ends when the last item is placed in your new home, plus a flat 15 minutes of return travel time. We price a bit higher than some competitors because we move quicker and treat your belongings with real care, which often means a lower total cost even at a higher hourly rate. Everything is explained upfront before your move day, so there are no surprises.
Do you offer labor only help without a truck?
Yes! If you have your own truck, U-Haul, PODS, or storage unit, we can load or unload it for you. Labor only rates are $200/hour for 2 movers, $248/hour for 3 movers, and $304/hour for 4 movers. Labor only jobs include drive time to your location plus a flat 15 minutes of return travel time.
Do you charge for travel time?
We keep it simple. For moves with our truck, the clock starts when our crew heads out from our central Honolulu starting point. Every job also includes a flat 15 minutes of return travel time. We go over this with you before your move, so you always know what to expect.
Do you serve all of O'ahu or just Honolulu?
We serve the entire island of O'ahu! Whether you're in Honolulu, Kailua, Kaneohe, Kapolei, Hawaii Kai, Mililani, or anywhere in between, we've got you covered. Local moves anywhere on the island are our specialty.
Are you an insured moving company in Hawaii?
Yes! TheMovers Hawaii is a registered Hawaii business (DADT LLC, Hawaii Tax ID on file) and we are insured. Need a certificate of insurance for your condo or HOA? Just ask when you book and we'll take care of it.
What services do you offer beyond just moving boxes?
We offer professional packing and unpacking, furniture disassembly and reassembly, specialty item moves (safes, pool tables, large appliances), labor only loading and unloading, container and storage unit unloading, and flat rate bulky item delivery. If you have a special request, just ask!
How far in advance should I book my move on O'ahu?
We recommend reaching out as early as possible, especially during busy seasons. That said, we do our best to accommodate last minute moves when availability allows. Call or text us at (808) 628-0905 to check availability.
Are you a locally owned moving company?
Yes, 100%. TheMovers Hawaii is owned and operated by Evan, born and raised on O'ahu. His partner Selah, who handles bookings and office management, is native Hawaiian. We're not a national chain or franchise. We're your neighbors, and we take pride in serving this community with Aloha.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Credit or Debit Tap to Pay (3.3% fee), Venmo, Zelle, Cash, and Check (no fee for these). Payment is collected after the move is complete.
